I’m Sion Dayson, an American voiceover artist and narrator based in Valencia, Spain. My warm, rich alto is perfect for a range of nonfiction titles, from those requiring the clear, commanding authority of the expert to topics seeking a kind, friendly guide.
I have a natural curiosity and compassion and love nothing more than discovering the beating heart of a story and sharing information with the world.
I’m a world-traveler myself, having studied in Ghana and Mexico, residing in France for a decade (where I became a French citizen), and now making my home on the Mediterranean coast.
My intercultural experience – I was a sociology and anthropology major in college, too! – along with my interests in wellness, self-development, and empowerment lend itself to titles on travel, relationships, entrepreneurship, society and cultural issues, among many others.
I also enjoy narrating children’s books. For nearly 50 years my mother worked as a librarian. Little surprise then, that reading and storytelling were my childhood’s most essential ingredients. I love opening this world of excitement and knowledge to younger readers, from fanciful picture books to middle grade nonfiction titles.
With a background as an award-winning author who holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, I understand the care and craft that goes into an author’s every word and consider it a privilege to give voice to a writer’s vision.
When not in my recording booth, I love living room dance parties, playing with my Persian cat, and chowing down at the latest local eateries.
