Audio Description

I’m Sion Dayson, an American voice actor based in Valencia, Spain specializing in warm, engaging, and emotionally connected audio description narration.

For me, audio description is storytelling at its most thoughtful; creating access while preserving the artistry, emotion, rhythm, and atmosphere of a film or series.

I love the challenge of weaving description naturally into a project’s world, whether that means capturing the tension of a horror film, the wonder of an animated series, or the emotional nuance of an award-winning drama.

My audio description work includes the 2025 Cannes Jury Prize-winning film Sound of Falling and two seasons of The Smurfs, along with educational content and independent productions across a variety of genres.

As a former writer and teacher, I’m especially attentive to clarity, pacing, and connection. I understand how important it is for audio description to feel informative and expressive without overshadowing the story itself.

I record from a broadcast-quality home studio with strong remote connectivity and fast turnaround times for clients around the world.

My initial AD training was through Hear Say Audio Description when I joined their roster. I then completed the American Council of the Blind’s Audio Description Institute (ADI). I’m a member of the Audio Description Association (ADA), which offers ongoing events and I have attended ARSAD (Advanced Research Seminar on Audio Description). I’m passionate about continuing education and the AD craft.

I’ve narrated audio description for feature films, animated children’s series, documentaries, educational content, and international productions. My work includes the 2025 Cannes Jury Prize-winning film Sound of Falling, the indie horror film “Jimmy & Stiggs,” and two seasons of The Smurfs.

I maintain a dedicated audio description workflow using Stellar and have experience working in Zille, along with familiarity with StudioNEXT. I’m comfortable adapting to new accessibility and localization platforms as needed.

I also voiced the English-language Italian film “Love Me, Love Me” which included some dubbing of Italian dialogue.
